We are growing a memorial unlike any before it. One tree for every soul taken from the African Continent.

Phase 1 of our vision begins in The Gambia, where we will grow 1 million trees—honoring the souls taken from the Senegambia region during the transatlantic slave trade.

Over 5 years (2026–2031) the ambition is:

  • 1 million trees grown

  • 12,000 hectares restored

  • 50 direct jobs (nursery workers, planters, site managers)

  • 7,000+ livelihoods supported (beekeeping, oyster farming, agroforestry)

  • 2.5–6.25 million tons of CO₂ sequestered over 20 years

But this is just the beginning.

In time, we aim to grow 12.5 million trees across Africa, one for every African life stolen and enslaved. Each tree will be a living tribute—rooted in African soil, grown by African hands.

This is the first-ever memorial to the transatlantic slave trade made of living trees.
